Paraguay on an indexed map from Servicio Geografico Militar, the country’s national survey organization, with comprehensive distance tables, an enlargement for the environs of Asuncion, lists of tourist accommodation and medical facilities, etc.

On one a side a map at 1:1,250,000 of shows roads and the railway line from Asuncion to Encarnacíon on a base with graphics indicating main highlands, marshland, protected areas and the country’s extensive network of rivers and lakes. Roads are classified as paved or unsurfaced and many local tracks are marked. No distances are indicated along the roads but the map is surrounded by four very comprehensive tables giving driving distances along the country’s 12 main routes.

Symbols indicate locations of petrol stations, tourist accommodation (hotels and paradors), hospitals or medical centres and places of interest. Also shown are the country’s administrative boundaries with names of the provinces. The map is indexed and has latitude and longitude lines at 1º intervals.

On the reverse is an enlargement at 1:250,000 for the environs of the capital and a map of the whole country at 1:3,000,000 showing just the principal road connections and indicating more clearly the 12 routes referred to in the distance tables. Both maps are annotated with symbols as the main map.

Also provided is a list of tourist accommodation in various towns, plus a list of towns and villages with hospitals or medical centres. Brief notes describe the country’s main places of interest.
