Indochina (Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) at 1:1,200,000 on an indexed, waterproof and tear-resistant road map with topographic and tourist information, published by Reise Know-How as part of their highly acclaimed World Mapping Project. The map is double-sided to provide the best balance between a good scale and a convenient size sheet.

The map divides the region north/south, with a good overlap between the sides. Light altitude colouring with contours and peak heights presents the topography. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. Road network includes selected local roads and tracks and gives driving distances on main and many secondary routes. Border crossings are clearly indicated. Railway lines and ferry routes are included and local airports are marked. The map also shows internal administrative divisions with names of the provinces.

A range of symbols highlights various places of interest including UNESCO World Heritage sites, religious temples and shrines, beaches and diving sites, etc (please note: some names of places of interest are shown in German). Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 30’. Each side of the map has a separate extensive index of localities. Map legend includes English

”World Mapping Project” is an extensive series of maps at varying scales, aiming to provide coverage of countries and regions worldwide using clear, well presented cartography with both topographic and tourist information. Some maps in this series have been published in Britain by Rough Guides with the same cartography. The remaining titles are listed on our website in their original Reise Know-How editions.

Sample of cartography:

Some elements of the cartography e.g. minor roads and contours are printed relatively faintly compared with other information such as major roads. Although clearly legible on the map, the lower contrast of these details has made them less obvious on the reproduction of the cartography presented here.
