Part of the "Off Road Trails & Quiet Lanes" series of family and leisure cycling guidebooks, this third title covers 20 rides, between 4km and 28km, that explore the quiet lanes and off-road trails of one of the most beautiful counties in the UK. It also includes instructions and features original maps, route profiles, and local area information.
Vertebrate’s “Cycling in Sussex” is a cycling guide aimed at the more leisure oriented cyclist, the family rider and the occasional mountain biker. The book covers 20 cycle routes ranging between 4km and 28km.

The routes are divided into five sections throughout the book: family; easy; medium; hard; railway trails; and seafront trails. For every route information is given on length, nearest bike hire, the relevant Ordnance Survey map to accompany it, a gradient diagram for the types of terrain elevations you’ll encounter, even a recommended place to get food and drink. Simple, bold coloured mapping shows A and B roads, some points of interest, and the route itself, with a simple description of each part of the route as you go along.

The back of the guide contains contact numbers for tourist information offices, bike hire centres, and places to eat.
