Italy Wine Wall Map from De Long Company, size 61 x 92 cm / 24" x 36", presents in an attractive pastel colouring the country’s wine regions according to their official classifications: DOCG and DOC (now also known as DOP according to the EU regulations), plus IGT, IGP, and VdT. Colouring and graphics are carefully designed to show overlapping zones, e.g. Chianti Classico and Val d’Arbia. The base map has colouring according the mean annual temperature, with graphics to indicate mountainous and/or forested areas, main rivers and roads, plus selected towns and locations within the wine regions.
Insets show in greater detail sub-zones of Chianti, plus separately the DOCG and DOC zone of Piedmont. Coverage, with full colouring and other information, includes parts of the Rhone Valley and Provence, Corsica, Ticino, western Slovenia and the northern coast of Croatia, and the north-eastern region of Tunisia. An interesting feature is the inclusion of latitude lines to provide comparisons with other wine growing areas, e.g. at 38°30’ the Napa Valley in California lies just north of Sicily. The map is supplied with a separate brochure which includes two indexes: by region, plus alphabetically by the DOGC and DOC names. Map legend and all the text are in English.
PLEASE NOTE: this map is also available folded, with on the reverse a map showing the IGT zones, plus an index booklet.
