The Apennines in Emilia-Romagna in a series of contoured, GPS compatible maps published by Selca together with the Emilia-Romagna branch of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI). Most maps are at 1:50,000, with additional coverage of selected areas at 1:25,000.
Cartographic style of the 50K maps differs according to the publication date, but all the maps are contoured (interval is either 25m or 40m), with additional relief shading on most sheets and plenty of spot heights. The overprint highlights waymarked hiking trails, showing their route numbers and indicating difficult passages. The overprint also shows which paths form part of the GEA – Grande Escursione Appenninica. Symbols mark locations of different types of local accommodations: hotels hostels, farms with overnight accommodation, refuges, and campsites. Also shown are viewpoints, avalanche danger spots, horse riding facilities, various places of interest, etc. On local roads bus stops and car parks are marked. The maps have a 1-km UTM grid. Each title includes a list of waymarked footpaths indicating their length, change in altitude and approximate timing.
Additional titles at 1:25,000 supplement the main series, providing more detailed coverage of selected area. All theses titles are also contoured and GPS compatible. For more information see individual descriptions.
Map legend and all the additional information are in Italian only.
