Finger Lakes in the western part of the New York State on a detailed road map at 1:235,000 from the National Geographic, with plenty of tourist information and printed on light, waterproof and tear-resistant synthetic paper. The base map, taken from satellite imagery, clearly presents the area’s unique post-glacial topography. Protected areas are highlighted. Detailed presentation of the road network includes small local roads. Symbols highlight camp grounds, visitor centres, vineyards and wineries, farm markets, outdoor recreational, etc, and many places of interest are annotated with notes. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 12’ intervals.
The map includes a street plan of Ithaca, including the campus of Cornell University, annotated with places of interest. On the reverse are extensive notes about the area, its geology, fauna and flora, history and cultural heritage, etc, plus a list of facilities and outdoor opportunities in the state parks, and a list of visitor centres.
