Netherlands: Cycling Routes Map and Guide Box Set from the ANWB with 59 maps at 1:100,000, an overview map at 1:300,000, an index booklet, plus a guide with day tours and long-distance routes, all presented in a sturdy box.

The set consists of:

A double-sided overview map of the whole country at 1:300,000 overprinted with a grid indicating the coverage by the 59 maps described below. The map highlights the 26 officially designated LF long-distance cycling routes, suggestions for 10 longer regional tours waymarked by the ANWB, plus locations of shorter local day-tours. Map legend is in Dutch only.

30 double-sided loose sheets (40x 30cm) covering the whole of the Netherlands at 1:100,000 and overprinted with the long-distance routes and the day tours indicated on the 300K map. Colours indicate different types of land use and/or vegetation. The maps also show railways with station names and have symbols for a variety of facilities and landmarks, including nature reserves, windmills, turbines, water towers, churches, etc. (NB. campsites are not marked - but see below). The maps have no geographical coordinates. Map legend is in Dutch only.

An index booklet listing localities shown on the 1:100,000 maps.

A 287-page guide, in Dutch only, with descriptions of 90 day tours and the 10 long-distance circuits waymarked by the ANWB. The guide is arranged by the country’s administrative regions and provides more maps plus descriptions of places of interest, accommodation listings (including campsites), suggestions for places to eat, etc. The guide is printed on high quality paper and is illustrated with numerous color photos.

    Very disappointing indeed. The maps are small and on thin paper. The mapping is neither clear nor very informative. The product is not value for money.
