France: Libris/Didier Richard Hiking Maps of South Eastern France and Corsica

From £13.99

  • Publisher: Libris / Edition Didier Richard
  • Scale: 1:40,000 - 60,000
South-Eastern France and Corsica in a series of contoured, GPS compatible hiking maps from Libris/Editions Didier Richard on a base derived from IGN’s topographic survey, highlighting both local routes and the GR network of long-distance paths.

Relief is portrayed by contours at 50m intervals and hill shading. Colours distinguish wood, brushwood and built-up areas. The maps highlight GR and GRP routes and other minor hiking trails, indicating hazardous or poorly defined sections. Bold symbols depict features of interest to hikers and other visitors, e.g. Via Ferrata sections, refuges, national park boundaries, information centres, gîtes, car parks, ski and chair lifts, VTT centres, museums, antiquities, and natural curiosities.

The maps have a UTM grid. Map legend includes English. Also included are lists of various useful contact addresses and telephone numbers, e.g. tourist offices, Club Alpine Français, weather information, etc.

PLEASE NOTE:

The series, begun by Libris, is gradually changing, with latest editions showing just Didier Richard as the publishers. Cartography and presentation remain the same.

Map No. 7 covering the Mercantour National Park has not been published and according to the latest information (June 2011) the current publishers have no plans for it.

Some of our customers may still remember the old Didier Richard series which provided a much wider coverage of southern Alps and the coast. That series, occasionally still quoted in older walking guides, has now been out of print for over a decade.
