Mexico: Ed. Independecia State Road Maps and Street Plans

From £9.95

  • Publisher: Ediciones Independencia
  • Scale: various
Road maps of Mexico’s states from Ediciones Independencia, each with a large street plan of the provincial capital, plans of several other local towns, plus a table showing various facilities and places of interest in the main towns of the state.

The road maps show the road and rail networks on a clear base, with topography indicated by rivers and areas liable to inundation, plus names of main mountain rages and peaks (no heights). National parks and other protected areas are brightly highlighted. The maps also indicate internal divisions into smaller administrative units.

A range of symbols provides information for tourists: accommodation including campsites and trailer parks, historical and archaeological sites, beaches and spas, sport and leisure centres, natural curiosities, petrol stations, etc. The maps have margin ticks, mostly at 30’ or 1° intervals. Map legend is in Spanish only. Presentation of the index varies: latest edition have a proper index but some earlier maps may still have a list of municipalities with their postcodes but without reference to their location on the map.

Each title also has a large street plan of the provincial capital, showing names of various districts and annotated with places of interest, schools, and other local institutions and facilities cross-referenced to a list. There is no street index, only a list of the districts with their postcodes. Plans of other larger towns are similarly presented, while maps of smaller locations have no lists of postcodes or indexes.

Each title also has a table of distances, plus a table showing various facilities and places of interest in the main towns of the state.
