La Palma in a French language guide with 18 walks from two to over six hours long presented on detailed topographic mapping, plus a 160km tour around the island (GR130) and an 86km route across its mountain (GR131). The guide is published by the FFRP, Fédération Française de la Randonnée Pédestre, publishers of the renowned series of topo-guides to France.

The 18 day-walks are all presented on coloured extracts at 1:40,000 from the Spanish topographic survey. Each description is placed next to the map and provides information on various places of interest along the route and directions for special points marked it.

The two long-distance routes, GR130 and GR131, are presented on an overview map of the island and annotated with brief stage by stage descriptions, including recommendations of local accommodation.

The guide includes an introduction to the island, with beautiful coloured drawings of its fauna and flora, notes on geology, etc. Extensive practical information includes various types of accommodation, restaurants, recreational facilities and hire of equipment, tourist offices, etc. In addition to the drawings, the guide is illustrated with numerous colour photos.
