La Palma at 1:40,000 on a double-sided walking map from Discovery Walking Guides with vivid altitude coluring providing an excellent picture of the topography, hiking routes cross-referenced to the publisher’s guide, waymarked CNIG routes, etc.

The map, printed on light waterproof and tear-resistant plastic paper, has bright altitude colouring and contour lines at 50m intervals, plus numerous spot heights. An overprint highlights hiking routes recommended by the publishers, cross-referencing them to the descriptions provided in their “Walk! La Palma” guide. Also shown La Palma’s two long-distance GR routes, plus numerous PR (day walks) and SL (short walks under 10kms) trails, with a complete list provided in a separate panel.

Symbols mark selected hotels, campsites, bars/restaurants, picnic areas, etc. For drivers locations of petrol stations are marked. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 1’ intervals. Current edition of this map was published in May 2011 to reflect the changes in the road numbering system.
