REGIONAL MAPPING:

Regional road mapping at 1:70,000 shows motorways with their interchange details and service areas, primary and standard class A routes, aswell as B roads and minor roads. Gradients and mileage markers are shown, as are petrol stations and safety cameras with applicable speed limits. Railways and stations are displayed, whilst cycle hire facilities and cycle routes are also marked.

The road mapping features a large selection of practical and sightseeing tourist related symbols, as described in the legend, including car parks, toilets and camping sites, historic buildings, tourist information centres, wildlife parks and viewpoints.

Tracks, footpaths and bridleways and cycle paths are marked, with long distance footpaths separately and clearly indicated. Colour coded contour lines indicate height above sea level and spot heights are given in metres.

Regional mapping is indexed to towns, villages, hamlets and a small selection of other important locations. The coverage of the more detailed town plans is indicated on the larger regional road maps.
