Map No. 40-25 - Cap Formentor in the topographic coverage of the Balearic Islands at 1:50,000 from the Centro Geográfico del Ejército, the country’s military survey organization. Contours are at 20m intervals, without additional relief shading but with graphics and/or colouring to show different types of terrain, vegetation or land use. Boundaries of national parks and other protected areas are marked.
The maps carry all the usual information shown a topographic survey at this scale, detailed presentation of the road and rail networks, rural tracks and paths, etc. There is no overprint to show waymarked walking routes or any other information specifically for hikers, although mountain refuges are marked.
Each map covers an area of 27 x 18 km (17 x 11 miles approx.). The maps have a 1-km UTM grid, with margin ticks for latitude and longitude at 5' intervals. Map legend is in Spanish only.
On the reverse each title has an inset showing local administrative boundaries and a table of UTM coordinates for triangulation points.
