Russia on a wall map, size: 77 x 60cm (30" x 24" approx) – paper version, from the National Geographic Society in their traditional classic style with a light base and country or internal boundaries in colour.
Coverage, using the two-point equidistant projection, includes all the ex-Soviet Union countries except Moldova, plus the whole of Mongolia, the Koreas, Japan, Afghanistan and Scandinavia. All place names are given transliterated into the Latin alphabet. The map shows the country’s internal administrative boundaries with, where necessary, the administrative units identified by numbers cross-referenced to a list.
The map shows the network of main roads and railways, international airports and ferry routes along the Arctic Ocean. Topography is indicated by light relief shading, with spot heights and graphics for swamp areas, plus names of various mountain ranges, etc. In northern Siberia numerous smaller rivers are named. A glossary provides a translation of various Russian geographical terms. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 5° intervals.
