Slovakia Road Atlas at 1:100,000 in an A4, spiral-bound format from Shocart, part of the Freytag & Berndt cartographic group, with extensive overprint for waymarked hiking routes, plus indexed street plan of the country’s eight main cities including Bratislava, etc.
For drivers the atlas presents a finely graded road network with driving distances on all but the smallest country lanes, toll roads, gradient markings, locations of fuel supplies, etc. Railway lines are shown with stations.
For walkers the overprint highlights waymarked hiking trails, most annotated with hiking times in both directions.
Symbols mark various places of interest, including locations of campsites and youth hostels, etc. Topography is shown by relief shading and numerous spot heights. Colouring and/or graphics indicate different types of vegetation including forest, orchards, vineyards, etc. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. The maps have a 5-km UTM grid for GPS users. The index gives postcodes for all locations. Map legend includes English.
Indexed, one-page street plans at 1:15,000 show the country’s main cities: central Bratislava, plus Banska Bystrica, Kosice, Nitra, Presov, Trencin, Tranva and Zilina. Also provided are an overview map of the whole country for route planning, plus distance and driving times tables.
