Two of Northern Territories’ most visited national parks, Kakadu and Litchfield, presented by Hema in one title on separate road maps at 1: 350,000 and 1:160,000 respectively, plus a road map of the Darwin region showing access to these parks, tables of the facilities in all the national parks in the Darwin region, etc..
On one side is a map of the Kakadu National Park at 1:350,000, extending south to Katherine to include the Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park. The region’s network of roads and tracks is presented on a base with contours and relief shading, plus graphics to show swamps, saline coastal flats, area liable to inundation, etc. An extensive range of symbols indicate various accommodation options, fuel and drinking water supply points, vehicle repair and medical facilities, information centres, etc Many places are annotated with contact details for more information. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 30’ intervals, and the map also has UTM margin ticks. The map is accompanied by lists of recommended walks in the two parks, plus in the Mary River NP.
On the reverse a similar map but at 1:160,000 covers the Litchfield National Park. A separate road map at 1:850,000, also annotated with facilities and places of interest, presents the whole Darwin region. This title also include tables showing what facilities can be found in all the national parks within the Darwin region, descriptions of places of interest, plus lists of useful contact details.
