Via Claudia Augusta Cycle Route, an 800-km long route from Donauwörth on the Danube in Germany to either Venice or the Po via Verona, presented by the Verlag Esterbauer in a guide with maps at 1:75,000 showing the route and its variants. Extensive information is conveyed by symbols, indicating road surface, campsites and other accommodation, repair workshops, recreational facilities, places of interest, etc. A list of various types of accommodation facilities is included. Via Claudia Augusta Cycle Route leads from the Danube via Augsburg and Füssen across the German and Austrian Alps to Bolzano and Trento where it splits into two branches: either to Venice or via Verona to Ostiglia on the River Po. The route follows the first Roman road across the Alps built in 47AD by the Emperor Claudius. The section from Landeck in Austria to Verona is also available as a separate Adige/Etsch Cycle Route guide.
