Stanfords is sponsoring a team of people who plan to ride from Scotland to Morocco and back on scooters to raise money for charity.
The 'Scoot to Africa’ team aim to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK, led by Samuel Wightman, who as a young boy lost his mum to cancer. He says, “Being so young at the time and not fully understanding exactly what was going on with my mother’s illness, it is now that I'm reaching the age of 28 and feel fit and healthy I realise she was so young and that there are lots of people on the world that are not as fortunate. With this in mind it is my aim to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK with the hope that maybe I will be a part of preventing others families going through what mine had to.”
The team will set off from Perthshire, Scotland on 2nd June this year and expect the journey to take 20 days.
