Michelin-starred noodles and the ultimate destruction of all life on earth. Two pretty compelling reasons to travel more we think.

 

Michelin Man Cooks Up Street Food Star

Chef Chan Hon Meng is all smiles having had his Singaporean noodle stall awarded a much coveted Michelin star. But, if you’re looking to impress your date with some swanky soya sauce chicken rice and rice, you’ll have to join the queue and pay your £1.10 like everyone else.

Sauvignon Sabotage

Firemen and police were called in to tackle the mysterious case of the French streets flooded with wine. Thousands of litres of top quality plonk (or “le plonk” en Français) poured out of the vats of a wine merchant on the Avenue Maréchal-Juin. There are suspicions that it might be the work of a “shadowy group of wine terrorists” called the Wine Action Committee. Which is strange, as that’s the name of our Friday night drinking club.

Still Big in Japan

While the rest of the world may well have already begun to grow disillusioned with Pokemon Go, Japan is still holding strong to its beloved export. Visitors to the Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival in Tokyo were treated to Pokemon themed displays – including the above ball thing which we at first thought was the Pepsi logo. So out of touch…

The End is Nigh on 160 Years Away

Not really so much of a problem for us but apparently scientists have identified an enormous asteroid that looks set to annihilate all life on earth in or around 2175. Well, it has a one-in-2,700 chance of hitting Earth, but stranger things have happened… So, why are we telling you this? Well, we’re hoping it will spur you on to see more of the world while you can!
