…celebrating National Cupcake Week
Because a day just wasn’t enough, some genius thought it fit to dedicate a whole week to the cupcake.
Here are some of our favourite cake filled recipe books:
Scone with the Wind: Cakes and Bakes with a Literary Twist £9.99
There is only one thing we love more than cake and that’s a literary pun. This is the recipe book that keeps giving with gems such as Macaroons with a View, Waiting for Gateau, Key Lime and Punishment and our personal favourite; Catch-tiramisu.
Peyton and Byrne: British Baking £20
London’s famous baker Oliver Peyton shares over 120 recipes. There us a whole section on fairy cakes (British for cupcake) and icings. Extra points if you can make what you bake resemble the wonderful photographs.
The Great British Bake Off: Bake it Better, Puddings and Desserts £14.99
Inspired by the BBC programme, the recipes in this book are split into three levels so depending on your expertise you can choose from; Easy does it, Needs some skill or Up for a challenge. This book contains lots of useful tips that will improve your baking to Paul and Mary’s standards.
If these books have inspired you and you are already pre-heating the oven here is a great set of vintage style map baking cases with flag cake top decorations.
