Terms and Conditions for DTM

  1. The Customer agrees to abide by the copyright and usage conditions of the Ordnance Survey, UK as applied to all Ordnance Survey Options products, including Landplan and OS Sitemap.
  2. The Customer will pay for all mapping and data produced using their unique DTM log-on username and password. (System security, access and appropriate usage is entirely the customer's responsibility)
  3. The customer will only pay viewing charges if a map is not purchased during the same viewing session. Viewing without purchase is chargeable on 1:10000 scale (roaming) and 1:2500/1:1250 (commit to view) at a rate of £1 per view.
  4. The Customer (and any appointed consultants) may not resell or license for sale any products purchased from Stanfords Ordnance Survey DTM.
  5. DTM plots and data will be charged at the prices as supplied on the Stanfords Business Mapping DTM price list. Stanfords' reserves the right to vary these prices from time to time and will advise the Customer in writing by giving not less than 30 days notice of any such changes.
  6. Stanfords shall not be under any obligation to guarantee the availability of DTM to the customer, particularly in respect of technical failures beyond Stanfords' control, and shall be entitled to make alterations to the specifications of DTM and its products as it may think fit.
  7. All spoils or erroneous plots will be fully documented using the spoils procedure and will be submitted to the Stanfords Service Centre within three days of production. It will be in both the customer's and Stanford's interests for claims to be made promptly and if at all possible within the calendar month of production.
  8. The customer understands that local Stanfords Business Mapping staff will have access to 'statistical information' relating to the plots and data that they produce in order to create an invoice. This is a copy of the statistical data that will be available to the customer on a daily basis for their own records (sample copy attached). The information will be regarded as 'Business Confidential' and will not be disclosed to any third party, although Stanfords Digital reserves the right to copy data to the Ordnance Survey, UK in the event of a billing or other dispute.
  9. The Stanfords Service Centre will undertake to provide a 'back-up' service in the event of the customer's IT Systems failing. Back-up production of this sort will be charged at the same DTM unit price for data products but will attract a media and production charge for plotted mapping. These prices will only be available for a contiguous period of up to five working days after which normal Stanfords Business Mapping pricing will apply. Back-up production will also be limited to a total of twenty working days in any 12 month period.
  10. Any recorded misuse of the DTM system, payment dispute or credit limit breach may result in immediate termination of the customer's active password thereby preventing access to the system. Extended disputes may result in removal of the customer's system log-on username. It should be noted that reinstatement of a user account may take up to five days to re-establish and incur a set-up fee of £50.00.
  11. Stanfords will advise the Customer of any proposed changes in these Terms & Conditions by giving not less than 30 days notice in writing of such changes, and such changes shall be subject to mutual agreement.

Installation and set-up

  1. Stanfords Business Mapping will provide the customer with a summary and detailed IT specification for the installation and successful operation of the DTM system.
  2. It is the responsibility of the customer to purchase, install and configure any additional software or hardware necessary to meet the IT specification.
  3. Stanfords Business Mapping will also provide a list of additional software utilities to help the customer establish a practical workflow for the DTM system.
  4. A limited amount of IT support (see support number and availability) will be available during DTM set-up in the event of issues arising that relate directly to it. However it is assumed that customers who currently operate networks and network devices such as servers, switches, routers and firewalls will use their own IT staff resources to resolve any internet or ftp connectivity issues.

Training and Support

  1. The local Stanfords Business Mapping department will provide new DTM customers with up to one half day 'User Training' for a group of up to three operators either at Stanfords' local outlet or at the customer's premises, as required.
It should be noted that a proper understanding of the DTM system is essential if spoils and non-productive viewing charges are to be kept to a minimum.
  2. A DTM user manual will be provided on Stanfords' Business Mapping website and an electronically distributable PDF of the same document will also be made available to the Customer on request.
  3. User support for plotting and data production will be provided by Stanfords' National Service Centre and will be available during normal working hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 6.00pm.
