Argentina adventures
It’s springtime in Argentina now, so make the most of the ideal weather for trekking and a vast range of other outdoor activities on offer. Get in the fiesta spirit in mid November and look out for the Day of Traditional Culture Festival in San Antonio de Areco, or the Gay Pride Parade in Buenos Aires.
Sunny Cape Provinces
Escape the impending gloom and head for the summer in South Africa. For sunshine and exploration, the best time to visit the beautiful Cape Provinces – encompassing Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape – is November. It’s light till well into the evening and there’s an average of 10 hours of sun a day. Perfect for touring the Garden Route and The Winelands, or taking an ocean dip.
Perfect Prague
Crisp and cold, Prague has a magical atmosphere in November, and if you’re lucky there may be a snowfall. Wander the cobbled streets and admire the picturesque architecture, while ducking in and out of the city’s marvellous tea and coffee houses and snug pubs to warm up. This is a perfect time to go if you want to avoid the crowds, in-between the peak seasons of summer and Christmas.
Be charmed by Nuremberg
Take a break this November in the enchanting German city of Nuremberg (Nürnberg in its native language), the second-largest city in Bavaria. Its medieval Altstadt (old town) was spectacularly rebuilt after being almost entirely destroyed during WWII. Stock up on the local speciality – Lebkuchen (large, soft gingerbread cookies) – in time for Christmas, too.
