Join us for an evening with James Cracknell and Ben Fogle to hear about a truly glorious British adventure, soon to be aired on BBC TV. For the first time since Scott's ill-fated race to the South Pole against Amundsen in 1913, a handful of teams from around the world were granted permission to race each other, on foot, across Antarctica – starting on New Year's Day and dragging their food, their tents (and their rubbish) with them.
This time, however, two hard nut Norwegian teams were up against double-Olympic Gold medallist Cracknell and TV presenter Fogle, who rowed the Atlantic together in 2005. Their adventures are told in their book, Race to the Pole and in an upcoming BBC TV documentary, 'On Thin Ice'.
This event will be held at the School of Chemistry, Cantock's Close, Bristol BS8 1TS.
