RESCHEDULED from 10 Sep
Come and hear the story of how the world’s best-loved travel brand began from the founder himself – Tony Wheeler.
In conjunction with the release of his new book – Once While Travelling – The Lonely Planet Story – written with his wife and co-founder, Maureen Wheeler, Tony reveals the fascinating story of how Lonely Planet was founded, grew into the world’s leading guide publisher – and was then sold to the BBC.
A wonderful mix of autobiography, corporate history and travel tales, The Lonely Planet Story is unique.
Tony and Maureen Wheeler founded the phenomenally successful publishing company Lonely Planet in 1973 and have since produced travel guides to nearly every country across the globe, and many of the guides are now well-known as the backpacker’s bibles.
