We are looking to recruit permanent full-time and part-time staff to work in our flagship store; some knowledge of our stock and familiarity with working on a till are desirable.

Stanfords offers sales advisors a stimulating retail environment with over 40,000 stock lines spread over three floors. You will develop specialist knowledge as well as merchandising skills and will take responsibility for specific areas of stock. Opportunities for career progression within the company are often available to staff who start working for us as sales advisors.

    We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time (40 hours), Goods-in Supervisor to work in our flagship store; previous experience of receiving stock in a retail environment is essential. Some knowledge of books and maps would be an advantage.

    Stanfords offers its team of staff a stimulating retail environment with over 40,000 stock lines spread over three floors. You will supervise a small team of staff and be responsible for accurate control of all deliveries received. This will include imported stock from all over the world.

      We're looking for a Full Time (40 hours) Post Room Clerk.


      The Post Room Clerk will be responsible for the smooth running of the post room, picking, packing and dispatch of all customer orders. Attention to detail and time management skills are essential to ensure all orders are picked correctly and packed carefully to ensure they arrive undamaged and on time.

      Responsible to:

      • Fulfilment Manager

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Picking, packing and franking all outgoing mail.
      • Alert Fulfilment Manager when mail supplies are running low.
      • Ad hoc duties as required.

        We're looking for a Full Time (40 hours) Web Data Editor.


        The Web Data Editor will be publishing products from start to finish including: asset collection and organization, creating and editing map grids, image editing and writing informative SEO optimised product copy for the catalogue of products we offer on our website. This will require efficient management of new products to ensure they are added to our site and available for purchase as soon as possible, and ensuring products are correctly categorised to ensure that customers can easily navigate the broad range.

        Responsible to:

        • eCommerce Manager

        Key Responsibilities:

        • Write concise yet compelling product copy.
        • Copyedit and proofread product copy and content for readability, style, grammar, consistency and accuracy.
        • Organise product data and attributes (spreadsheets).
        • Ensure products are assigned correct Subjects, Classifications and Geolocations.
        • Edit and resizing product images.
        • Communicate with Web Team to resolve content, editorial and technical issues.
        • Understanding of and keeping abreast of new and emerging SEO best practices.
        • Create SEO optimised product/category landing pages and ensuring content/product copy adheres to SEO best practices.
        • Coordinate with eCommerce Manager and Buyers to ensure products are ready for promotional/seasonal marketing campaigns.

        Required Skills:

        • It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
        • Experience working with CMS.

          Full Time (40 hours) Monday to Friday.


          To deliver an outstanding experience to our online customers we need a Fulfilment Assistant to assist the Fulfilment Team by providing excellent customer service and efficient dispatch of customer orders. You will assist with the daily order work flow of all orders from our eCommerce website to consistently achieve the highest levels of customer service, while ensuring customers receive their correct orders in good condition and on schedule.

          Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential as a large part of the role involves providing customer service via email and phone to provide and process information in response to customer enquiries, concerns and requests related to products, services, and sales orders.

          Responsible to:

          • Fulfilment Manager.

          Key Responsibilities:

          • Provide outstanding customer service to all online customers.
          • Identify customer needs and answer all related questions responding to queries.
          • Resolve customer complaints promptly and efficiently by investigating problems, developing solutions and making appropriate recommendations to the eCommerce Manager.
          • Work within company guidelines and to be alert to suspicious online activity at all times and report any concerns to the Fulfilment Manager.

          Required Skills:

          • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
          • A polite, tactful and friendly attitude.
          • Highly organised and attentive to the detail.
          • Problem-solving ability.
          • Self-motivated, and able to work under own initiative to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines.
          • Flexible to take on ad-hoc tasks

          Desired Skills:

          • Travel book, map product and geographical knowledge.
          • Experience in online/e-commerce platforms.
          • Experience working with CMS.
