About this map:
Double-sided hiking map of the northern part of the Eifel, between Aachen, Monschau and Düren. The map extends west to Maastricht and south to Spa and includes the Haute-Fanges/Hohes Venn Regional Park. In addition to local footpaths, the map also highlights numerous cycling routes, recreational facilities, places of interest, campsites, etc. A small street plan shows the centre of Aachen. Map legend is in German, French and Dutch only.
About the series:
Kompass, Europe's largest publishers of hiking maps, provide extensive coverage of Austria and Germany. All maps are contoured with, where appropriate, additional shading and graphic relief. Contour interval varies according to the terrain, from 10 metres in the coastal areas of Northern Germany to 100 metres in the mountainous parts of the two countries.
All the maps highlight local and long-distance footpaths, with some titles also showing cycling routes, mountain bike trails and ski routes. The maps also show various types of accommodation, from selected inns and hotels to campsites and mountain refuges, recreational facilities, places of interest, etc. No geographical coordinates are given.
Map legend varies: most of the maps covering Austria and the German Alps include English. Maps of other parts of Germany, including Black Forest and Harz, have a legend in German only. Several titles are accompanied by a booklet with a description of the area, in German except where English text is indicated in the individual map description.
