Drawn by the cartographer Herman Moll this early map of the island shows roads, settlements and information for ships, e.g. soundings, shoals, reefs, etc. The name of the owner of each settlement is marked, eg. Williams, Jacobs, Bradshaw. The detail also includes roads, towns, churches, forts, sugar plantations, windmills, cattlemills and underwater rocks. Reproduced on heavyweight, parchment effect paper, with a generous border area.
