The armillary sphere was invented by Eratosthenes in the 3rd century BC to demonstrate the motion of stars around the Earth.

The skeletal construction is centered around a blue sphere representing Earth as the centre of the universe, with a series of graduated metal rings representing the equator, ecliptic, meridians and parallels centred around it.

This classy desk ornament is intricately assembled from solid bronze and wood, and rotates on two axes.
