The hiking region around the Zugspitze is undoubtedly considered to be one of the most diversified regions of the Alps.

All of of the region’s diverse beauty of nature (and the famous mountain peaks such as Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze or the Ettaler Manndl) are made accessible in this guide through the presentation of light and family oriented hiking routes.

A total of 50 hiking tours covering the easterly region of the Ammergauer Alps, the Wetterstein, the Mieminger Mountain Range and the westerly portion of Karwendel and the Ester Mountains are introduced to the reader - in other words those mountains around Oberammergau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald.

The guide includes a description of the tours; small colour print hiking maps in a scale 1:50.000 with drawn in hiking routes; a description of the routes to each of the 50 recommended tours as well as a general map for planning.
