The Great Desert Tracks - CD-ROM features the 6 maps of the Great Desert Tracks Series at 1:250,000 in both OZF2 (OziExplorer) and ECW formats, plus the famous Companion Guide in a digitised form, giving background information to the project, thumbnail guides to the Top 25 Tracks, an equipment checklist, and also a bit of guidance on different types of communication and a basic remote area first aid section.

The CD-ROM comes complete with OziExplorer Lite map viewer and latitude/longitude positioning.

The Great Desert Tracks maps cover from Eulo in Outback Queensland to the Pilbara in Western Australia and stretches from the Gibb River Road south to the Great Australian Bight, and all maps or map excerpts are easily printable.
The diversity of the graphic tools makes it possible to calculate route distances, and bearings as well as latitude and longitude or AMG waypoint positions. It is also possible to enter individual routes or add personal data (both graphic and text) to a map, search for all displayed place names, or highlight points of interest (including fuel and camping locations), routes and sites.

The DVD is compatible with Windows and most GPS (Eagle, Garmin, Lowrance and Magellan).
