The cartography is very similar to that used in the 1:200,000 road map series by this publisher. Here it is reduced to 1:300,000 with only a small amount of generalisation applied and the long-distance footpaths omitted. Some of the text and fine detail is very small.
The road detail includes many minor roads and shows motorway junction detail. Intermediate driving distances, steep gradients, toll routes, scenic routes, tourist routes, traffic restrictions and seasonal closures on mountain roads are indicated. Railways, cablecars, ferries and airfields are also shown. Military reservations, nature reserves and administrative boundaries are included and symbols denote various places of interest, landmarks, campsites and youth hostels, etc.
A grid in steps of 10' indicates latitude and longitude. Map legend includes English and the index booklet shows postcodes. It also includes small street plans for 9 city centres.
