The Periplus Bangkok Regional Map is a very comprehensive, detailed double-sided map with a street plan of central Bangkok at 1:15,000 on one side, and a Greater Bangkok road map at 1:45,000 on the other. Street and road detail is very clear, with prominent naming. Subtle shading is used to indicate built-up areas, parks, and public & notable buildings. Routes and stations for the Skytrain, Subway and rail systems are marked on the map; other transport information includes ferry piers, bus stations and car parks.

Many symbols are used to mark locations of relevance to either visitors or residents. These include gas stations, post offices, embassies & consulates, tourist information, police, hospitals, schools, universities, places of worship, apartment buildings, selected restaurants, hotels, shopping destinations, markets, banks, museums, monuments and other sites of visitor interest and even travel agencies.

The lower-scale Greater Bangkok map overleaf shows much of the same information as the city centre map, although it only shows street names for principal roads and major thoroughfares. It extends much further, covering an area approximately 30x22km, extending as far north as Don Muang International airport.

Both maps have their own grid reference system and their own index. Each index contains listings for places of interest, hotels, hospital and selected streets. An inset shows a detailed map of Suvarnabhumi Airport at 1:50,000.
