A4, 145-page, paperback atlas of Canada annotated with colour-coded numbered boxes referring to lists of national and provincial parks, conservation areas, campgrounds, golf courses, skiing areas and other attractions. Main canoe routes are also highlighted.
The opening section presents the whole of Canada at 1:6,000,000 with the overprint showing recreational locations in the more remote parts of the country: Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, northern parts of Ontario and Quebec, plus Labrador - the areas not covered by more detailed mapping.
The next section covers western and central provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba at 1:2,000,000. Northwestern and north-central Ontario are shown at 1:1,725,000, with the more densely populated areas of central, southern and eastern part of the province at 1:750,00. Southern and eastern Quebec is shown at 1:800,000, as are the Atlantic Provinces, but with Newfoundland at 1:1,000.000. Each group of maps is accompanied by enlargements for environs of main towns at scales varying from 1:250,000 to 1:100,000.
The final section of the atlas includes lists referred to by the overprint, arranged by province, with details of campgrounds, golf courses, national and provincial parks, conservation areas, skiing areas, plus the canoe routes shown on the maps. Lists of camping grounds, parks and conservation areas indicate what facilities and recreational opportunities can be found there. All the lists provide relevant phone numbers.
The atlas also has an extensive 11-page index of place names.
