Detail on the street plan includes one-way streets, notable buildings, public buildings, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, pedestrian zones, trolleybus lines, metro lines and stations, and water taxi links. Symbols denote information centres, monuments, churches, theatres, sites of interest, car parks, hospitals, bus stations and post offices. Coverage extends from the McCormick Place convention centre in the south to Oak street Beach in the north and the Dan Ryan Expresway (I90/94) in the west. A small inset continues the coverage north to include Lincoln Park. The map is indexed for streets, hotels, public buildings, parks and shopping malls.

On the reverse is an indexed plan of the Hyde Park district at 1:20,000, a diagram of O’Hare airport showing terminals and car parks, and a map of the greater Chicago area at 1:250,000 showing main roads, districts, hospitals, golf courses, airports, county boundaries and places of interest. There is also a diagram of the metro network.
