Antarctica is ‘hot’. Thousands of tourists visit the continent every year, but while most of them to so on board large, comfortable cruise ships. Thijs Heslenfeld wanted true adventure. He boarded the Dutch barque Europa- not for a holiday, but for a journey of discovery to some of the loneliest, coldest and most beautiful places on earth.

As Thijs says himself:

As well as the sumptuous photos, the Ship’s logbook is also recreated, as written by the Europa’s captain, Klaas Gaastra.
