A detailed road map of the region around Cuzco including Machu Picchu, with a clear street plan of central Cuzco. The main map encompasses the towns neighbouring Cuzco: Yaurisque, Oropesa, Pisac, Calca and Urubamba and extends north-westwards to further cover the Machu Picchu Historic Park. Road detail distinguishes paved and unsurfaced roads and includes dirt tracks, with the Inca Trail highlighted in red. Railways and stations are clearly marked , powerlines are included and many small scattered settlements are shown in a addition to towns. Symbols denote ruins and selected accommodation. Elevation tinting and faint contours at 100m intervals represent the general relief, with spot heights for many peaks. No altitude/longitude lines are drawn, but themap is indexed for ruins and towns.
The Inca Trail region is shown in an inset at 1:50,000, highlighting the trail (with distances indicated at intervals) and showing campsites, hostels, passes, tunnels, ruins and spot heights. There is also a small, clear street plan of Aguas Calientes and an annotated plan of the Machu Picchu ruins. A larger inset presents a 1:11,000 plan of Cuzco’s central and western districts, including university district, the two main railway stations and the switchback railway ascent in the west. Pedestrian zones and staircases are highlighted, as are Inca wall remains, notable buildings, churches and institutions. Symbols depict antiquities, hotels, tourist information offices, points of interest, bus terminals, post offices, hospitals etc.
