The main map at 1:10,500 shows the city from Holyrood Park in the south-east to Craigleith in the north-west. An inset on the reverse extends the coverage to include Leith.
Detail includes pedestrian zones, railway lines and stations, car parks & bus stations. Colours distinguish parks, built-up areas, shopping centres and notable buildings, and a range of symbols denote various landmarks, museums, hotels, theatres, cinemas, sites of interest etc. On the reverse is a smaller, less detailed map providing an overview of the whole of the city showing main roads and districts.
All the maps are indexed for streets and places of interest, and throughout the coverage 29 major attractions are highlighted and provided with brief descriptions. Some general notes for tourists are also included eg. public transport matters, money, tourist information resources.
