Double sided, indexed road map on durable, waterproof paper, dividing the country into north and south sections. The map combines clear road and tourist detail with relief indicated by contours, altitude tinting, spot heights and peak heights. Wadis, swamps and corals reefs are indicated and national park areas are marked. Road information includes minor roads and tracks and also shows intermediate driving distances on main roads. Railways and ferry links are shown, also oil pipelines and aqueducts. Internal administrative boundaries and region names are marked and symbols show airports, places of interest, viewpoints, pyramids and other antiquities and notable buildings, border crossings, wells, oases, lighthouses, campsites and beaches. Longitude & latitude lines are drawn at 1° intervals and there is an index of place names. The legend is in English only.

This is one of many maps published by Rough Guides under the auspices of the World Mapping Project begun by the German publisher Reise Know-How Verlag. Although clearly legible on the map, the lower contrast of these details has made them less obvious on the reproduction of the cartography presented here.
