John Roque's 9 year survey, culminating in the publication of this map in 1746, was the first map of London to be based on an original survey since that of William Morgan in 1682. The map was published as a gigantic 26" to the mile wall map in 24 sheets with an index. An index of over 5,500 streets and locations is included, with a commentary by Ralph Hyde - former Keeper of Prints and Maps at the Guildhall Library in the City of London.
The map coverage includes the City of London, Westminster and Southwark.
