The Stanford's Library Map of London and its Suburbs was originally a 24-sheet set of maps covering Victorian London during a period of rapid expansion and improvement.
Here the map is presented on CD ROM. Unlike the b/w paper version, in this case the map is a hand coloured version, retaining the original detail, naming streets and marking major buildings. Also an index of over 18,000 streets and locations is included, with a commentary by Ralph Hyde - former Keeper of Prints and Maps at the Guildhall Library in the City of London.
The map coverage extend out to Highgate, Greenwich, Streatham and Hammersmith.
Original scale: 6" to 1 mile.
