One of the titles in a series of detailed maps based from the country’s 1:50,000 topographic survey. Relief is indicated by contours at 20m intervals, spot heights and hill-shading, with physical features such as scree, sand, cliffs, swamp, coastal rocks, etc. Road network shows unsurfaced roads and paths, gates and narrow bridges. Railways are included, along with many other landscape features and landmarks, e.g. fences, power lines, masts, homesteads and antiquities. No special tourist-related features are marked, e.g. information centres or recreation sites. The maps are overprinted with the New Zealand Map Grid.
