Michelin Road Atlas of Great Britain in an A3, spiral-bound format presenting the mainland and the Western Isles at 1:250,000, with main routes maps for London Birmingham and Manchester, 70 city centre street plans and a tourist section recommending five sightseeing routes.

Regular users of Michelin road maps will find different cartography here, since mapping for this atlas was supplied by Geographers A-Z rather than the publishers themselves. Road network is presented with great clarity, with motorways indicating full or limited interchanges and services. Steep gradients and narrow major roads with passing places are marked, as well as locations of speed cameras. Driving distances are shown only on main routes and primary route destinations are highlighted. Railway lines are shown with stations. A wide range of symbols indicate various places of interest from historical sites to recreational facilities or theme parks. The maps have national grid lines and show topography by relief shading and colouring for woodlands. Extensive index includes places of interest and has a separate list of motorway junctions.

The Greater London area extending beyond M25, plus the Birmingham and Manchester conurbations are shown in greater detail on main routes maps. 70 city centre street plans show main traffic arteries, one way streets and car parks. Also provided are maps of the road networks around main ports and airports.

An introductory section gives an overview of five scenic motoring tours; for each tour there is a summary of length, duration and suggested highlights, plus publishers’ choices for where to dine.
