Crete Road and Touring Atlas from Anavasi, in a spiral-bound format: GPS compatible, indexed, with contoured topographic base highlighting the E4 long-distance hiking path. Topography of the island is clearly presented by contours at 100m intervals, enhanced by altitude colouring, relief shading and spot heights. Names of towns, villages, mountain ranges, etc., are given in both scripts, but names of archaeological sites and isolated churches are shown mostly in Greek alphabet only.
Road network includes minor dirt roads in poor condition and 4WD tracks, indicating locations of petrol stations and tire repair workshops. A wide range of symbols highlight numerous places interest: archaeological sites and old fortifications, churches and monasteries, windmills, hot springs, caves, etc. Selected hotels, campsites, summer camps, and refuges are also marked.
For walkers the atlas highlights the course of the E4 long-distance route and shows many local paths. Additional maps provide information on the island’s land use and protected areas. The atlas has a 1km UTM grid. The index of place names is in both scripts. Map legend includes English.
