A detailed road atlas in a spiral bound format which folds in half to fit into a 16 x 31cm slipcase.
Road detail includes unsurfaced roads and tracks, and intermediate driving distances are marked on most roads. Where a road meets the edge of the map, the distance to the next notable location is stated. Airfields, fords & ferries are marked.
Relief is shown by hill-shading, and contours, although the latter appear not to be quantified. Spot heights and lake surface elevations are included. County boundaries, national parks and reserves are marked, and various terrain types are distinguished eg. shrubbery, cultivated land, lava, marsh. A range of symbols depicts such features as lighthouses, powerstsions, churches, isloated buildings, hotsprings, shelters, huts, filling stations. Latitude & longitude lines are at 15' and 20' intervals respectively, and margin ticks show Lambert grid coordinates. Map legend in German, English, French and Icelandic.
