Double-sided road map dividing the region into eastern and western sections. As with most Nelles maps the general relief is depicted by attractive hill shading, complemented by spot heights for selected locations. Road detail includes secondary and some minor roads, and intermediate driving distances are marked on some major routes. Railways and regional boundaries are shown, and symbols depict airports. The epicentre of the December 2004 earthquake is marked, but a note stresses that the map depicts the situation before the flooding in Aceh province.
Latitude & longitude margin ticks are at 4 degree intervals.

Larger scale insets show selected regions in more detail, with beaches, national parks, sites of interest and ferries marked: Lombok, Bali, south Sulawesi, central Java, north Sumatra.
