Tourist road map of the park and adjacent reserves in South Africa, with several insets showing details of the camps. The map is double-sided, dividing the region into north and south sections. Road detail includes minor roads, distinguishes untarred roads and shows intermediate distances on most routes. Symbols indicate where petrol and vehicle repairs are available, and scenic routes are highlighted. The publisher’s preferred approach to conveying most effectively the best routes to the locations and regions of interest is to reduce distracting details. Consequently, compared with some other maps for the same region, this map shows no elaborate representation of general relief, although highland ranges are named. Selected peaks and hills are marked but no elevations are stated. Reserve boundaries are marked and a range of symbols depict airports, border posts, park entry gates, monuments, viewpoints and other facilities for visitors eg. hotels, information centres, lodges, camps, car parks etc.

Inset plans show the layout of 12 rest camps throughout the region. There are also small thematic maps depict the region’s vegetation & rainfall, small tables showing local climate statistics, a driving distance chart, camp gate and entry gate timetables. No latitude and longitude lines are marked, but the map is indexed for camps, towns and villages. The legend is in English, French and German.
