La Porta del Cel Hiking Circuit

A 65-km long, cross-border hiking circuit rising to the summit of the Pica d’Estats (3143m). The map, from the publishers of an extensive hiking series for the Spanish Pyrenees, has contours at 10m intervals, relief shading, and colouring showing different types of vegetation. The 5-day route, which branches off the GR-11 long-distance path along the Spanish Pyrenees, starts at approximately 1200m and returns to that altitude via several peaks. The entire circuit is clearly highlighted on the map, along with refuges (FEEC and CAF) and campsites, as well as other accommodation facilities near its starting point at Tavascan. The map has a 1km UTM grid and margin ticks at 1’ intervals. Map legend includes English.

The accompanying 38-page booklet, in French/Spanish/Catalan, provides brief descriptions of each section, plus contact addresses of the refuges. Also included is a profile of the route.
