The Rough Guide city map of Marrakesh and Essouria is a waterproof and tear-resistant plan with plenty of tourist information for both cities.

For Marrakesh, the plan of Medina is at 1:5,100, with its southern part shown separately on the reverse side of the map, where there is also a plan of the Ville Nouvelle at 1:14,300, with an enlargement for the central part of the Guéliz district. The plans highlight main shopping areas in both parts of the city, as well as numerous hotels, places of interest, public fountains and toilets, bus routes, taxis, bike and scooter rentals, etc. In addition to a street index, there are also lists of hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. all cross-referenced to the plans.

The map also includes a street plan of the old town of Essaouira, indexed and annotated as for Marrakesh. There is also a general map of the area between Marrakesh and the coast, showing the road and rail links between the two towns.

The map is presented in a folder which includes a quick reference map of the central part of Marrakesh’s Medina, and brief notes on 12 recommended sites.
