Originally published in London's Fleet Street in 1805, this is a small but detailed map of Martinique, showing its first capital St Pierre which was later destroyed by the eruption of Mt Pelée. Coastal information (e.g. headlands, points, offshore islands) is plentiful, with roads and hill-shading drawn inland. Towns and villages are also shown. Reproduced on heavyweight, parchment effect paper, with a generous border area.
