As well as major and minor roads and county boundaries these detailed atlases also show campgrounds, railroads, dirt roads, boat ramps, hidden lakes and streams, airfields, power lines and so on. Most of the atlases use contours and relief shading to indicate the topography and provide additional information on everything from museums and gardens to hiking and cycling routes. Indexed street plans for prominent towns and cities are also included along with an extensive gazetteer. Most of the atlases are GPS compatible, with latitude and longitude grid lines at 5 or 10 minute intervals (marked in both the conventional and decimal form), however this can vary according to the scale of the mapping.

In this atlas the contour interval is either 15 or 20 ft dependingon the nature of the relief. GPS compatible with margin ticks at 1' intervals. Gazetteer pages include tables providing details of state and national lands, campgrounds, fishing & hunting areas, also details of natural features, hiking and biking locations, historic sites and museums. 8 additional maps show habitats in Chesapeake Bay for selected species.
